If they made a movie based on your life, what genre would it be and what would the critics say about it? You can also give it a name if you want.

Not sure about a movie, but I've been told that the television show that best describes my life is House.

Take that as you will... :p

It would be one of those deep, inner-looking, introverted style of movies where you see the main character face a variety of struggles, and the plot revolves around the emotions and feelings of that character.

I would go to watch it in the theatre and, like most movies I see, I'd be disappointed and want my money back.

Weird Science.

I think the OP is looking for something deeper but the thread simply can't go that way. It's too fun as is. ;)

Mine would be riveting. Would fall somewhere between the excitement of a documentary about gastropod sex and a biopic on the star wars kid.

An unpredictable mix of Annie Hall, Forrest Gump, Tom and Viv, and Ice Storm... What do you call that?

... and I would be played by David Duchovny... uncanny resemblance.

Dark Comedy...

Critics would probably go

" what drugs was the script writer on to write this!?!"

" too absurd to be believable"

" left us feeling much better about our lives"
:)

Mine would be an indie:

  • Cost $250M USD to produce
  • Take $12.25 at the box office after five years
  • Banned at Sundance
  • Too depressing for the Germans
  • Too existential for the French
  • Too obscure for the Sewdes
  • Not enough Adam Sandler for the Americans

My life would be like Zack and Miri make a Porno, only without me porking the girl I've been friends with forever.

Ah, amazingly similar to what my movie would be like. We could've met up and made the basis for a sequel Alien vs Predator style.

My movie could possible also have been written as some kind of psycho thriller drama instead of a dark comedy. :p

Boring, regular stuff like Wonder Years. What interesting things that I did according to what a movie thinks is script worthy is not so interesting in real life (let's say like working in a hospital, traveling to a strange area depicted in movies, going to first rock concert, first date, etc.) that it would probably be too boring to show.

When I was a kid, I asked a detective what his job was like and he told me, "Not like TV" and "writing a lot of reports". When I asked a retired Air Force pilot he said his whole life was that of a "truck driver in the sky". Life is usually pretty safe and boring for most people thus the popularity of super hero movies or TV shows like "24".
