Hello everyone!
This is the official netbook to Arrandale MacBook Pro thread.
Post your current netbook's specs. Most will be the same though :p
Include speculation of the MBP you'd like to upgrade to!
I'll start it off:

I'm using an Eee 1000H with:
Intel Atom (No s*** Sherlock!) N270 1.6GHz
10" Screen with 1024x600 resolution
2GB DDR2 RAM at 667MHz (Aftermarket upgrade)
320GB HDD (Also aftermarket upgrade)
1.3MP webcam
Multi-touch trackpad
and a 92% size keyboard.

I'm gonna be getting the 13" MacBook Pro. This is what I hope the specs for the base one will be:
Intel Core i5 430M 2.26GHz
4GB DDR3 RAM at 1066MHz
250 or 320GB HDD
13" Screen, glossy or matte, with a 1280x800 or 1440x900 (hoping)
Probably still just a Superdrive
Either a:
nVidia 310M or 330M or ATi 5470 or 5650
Same battery life
Same everything else.

So, that's my netbook and guess.
What about you guys?

I had my 2.2 SR MBP stolen 2 months ago so I'v been using a Asus EE1000H as well. I hate the thing and it only has a 4 gb ssd drive in it not a 320 gb hd. I'm ready to throw it at a wall and am desperately waiting for the new MBP's to be released.Hoping for a higher res 15" i7 so i can finally do some work without my hands cramping.

I'm going from an Asus 1002HA with 2GB RAM and Win7 to a 13" MBP. If the price doesn't move much and the specs get a huge bump I'll go with an arrendale based system. If nothing happens in the next week or two I'll break down and get a referbished C2D 2.53 GHz machine.

Are you sure that's the Eee 1000H? Did you replace the standard 80/160GB hdd with the 4GB SSD?
Otherwise, I'm gonna guess that it was an Eee PC original, not a 1000H.

I wouldn't expect an i5 in the 13" MBP just yet, I highly doubt even MBP updates at the Jan 27th event.

If a quad core is put in one, I'd expect the 17", and MAYBE the 15", but I highly doubt the 13" due to heat and power.

Samsung NC10:

Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz
10" Screen with 1024x600 resolution
2GB DDR2 RAM at 667MHz (Aftermarket upgrade)
160gb hard drive
1.3MP webcam
Multi-touch trackpad (which is awful to use compared to the Macbook's I've tried)

And I can't wait to 'graduate' to a 13 inch MBP :D

Core i5 isn't quad core...
It's dual core. The only quad core mobile Core iX processors are the Core i7 QM's and XM's.

Holy poop.
Vitaminz, you live in Cardiff?
What area?

You are correct actually. I just double checked and I do infact have the original Eee PC. You can imagine how terrible it is though.

I'm going from a launch day Eee PC 4G (slightly melted...ok, more like completely melted). Being the masochist I am, I used it for video processing...I think a nice new i5 will be much better for that.

Nasty... How long would it take for a 30 minute video to be converted into iPhone format, for example.
It takes me 1h30 - 2h... *sigh* I usually leave it encoding overnight :p
Unless OS X Leopard crashes completely, which does happen occasionally on my Eee, it's usually done by morn.

Indeed.
Even smaller screen, trackpad and keyboard than me.
Also, I'm guessing it's an odd linux distro, right?

I actually almost wish it was a weird linux distro as it would probably work better then the windows xp I have now. I was remarkably surprised it had 2 finger scrolling though, although it is pretty buggy.

Hmmm...
Have you tried Ubuntu Netbook Remix, or does that need more than 4GB of space?

So what will everyone be doing with their abandoned netbooks?
I'm selling mine and not losing a massive amount. I'm selling it for £220 guaranteed sale.
I got mine for £320, so not bad for over a year's usage :)

Mine is going to a family member who wants a "browse the web around the house" machine

Ubuntu Netbook Remix will fit fine in 4GB. I actually had a 4GB SDHC card in my 1002HA as the ubuntu system disk while I was experimenting with it.

220 pounds after an year? I'd sell my MSI Wind 100 for € 200 IMMEDIATELY.

Hahaha :p
The buyer was willing to pay £250, but my parents said "Look, it's your grandma. Take even more off" so I did.
Yup, that's right. My grandma is buying my Eee PC and I'm gonna train her how to use it :p

Haha! Never! At least you aren't ripping her off *cough cough*...

It's not ripping her off!
This Eee PC is selling for £250 on eBay by other sellers, some with even shorter warranties than mine.
Heck, I can't remember whether I registered the warranty, so it might be all the 2 years :p
Also, I'm providing support, and it comes with an upgraded 320GB hdd and 2GB of RAM. This is a very competitive price considering everything.

Ha! I'm only guilt tripping you, don't worry.

Drain the lady for every penny she has!
