does anyone know how hot they'll get now? I think the Larger 17" could handle it , however the smaller more compact 15" has less thermal dispersion. Will it be "too" hot. by "too" I mean, will it compromise the system?

Thanks

Probably the same fan system and heatsinks, so likely similar thermal characteristics.

If they used the bigger 17" for a couple more fans, they can likely kick it up a notch like they do on the iMacs.

Instead they just stuff in a bigger battery to the extra space.

I'll be interested to see if it makes any difference with the heat. I just sold my 17" Uni-body (2.93 GHz) on E-bay and ordered the 3.06 GHz version. It cost me zero dollars (broke even on the sale) and I was able to get a free Ipod Touch out of it. I'll let you if it gets any hotter than the 2.93 when put to task, but I doubt it.

the new CPU, the T9900 (3.06) has the same thermal design power (TDP) as the 2.93 and 2.8 which is 35W. The 2.53 and 2.66 have a TDP of 25W.

My guess is it will be the exact same as the 2.93 experience...
