According to The New Apple iPad page then there's no flash. 
I know it's popular among people here to shoot down the idea of a camera of any size on the iPad (and I'm sure that will continue in this thread), but giving us an awesome 5mp camera with AF/AE and 1080p video but no flash kinda stinks. Yes, flash photos suck. Yes, the flash isn't great anyway. BUT the flash does come in handy for video (parents know tracking kids is tough) and even just as a simple flashlight (i use mine a lot on the iPhone).
