I'm going to be a senior next year in engineering so i'm thinking about getting a macbook pro for school. I'm thinking about getting the new 2.4ghz macbook pro 13" but I got an offer from a friend who is selling his mid 2009 macbook pro 15" 2.8ghz. The price difference between the two are only $200. Is it a good deal? Which one which is a better deal? Which one would you get?

what is the warranty for the used one?

and does it have the anti glare display?

these are features that would make the decision easier

So $1100 for the 13" (student discount) + tax

versus $1300 for the 2.8 15"?

if this is the case, its really closer to $100 and the 9600 is faster than the 320 and the 2.8 is faster than the 2.4
so your would only lose the display port with audio pas through, new scrolling on the trackpad, and the bigger battery

hopefully displayport and trackpad can be driver updated in the future and the battery can be replaced with the newer one more than likely

so answer seems fairly easy as long as the 2.8 is cherry
if it has anti glare or apple care extended warranty its a no brainer

Yea, I would personally agree with the others. I'd go with the 15" 2.8. Its faster in every way. Plus, 15" screen really makes difference in doing some school projects and assignments.

$1300 for 2.8 15" MBP is pretty good deal!
