The new MBP after October 15

I'm sure most of read 100s of threads about when the new MB or MBP will be released. Now here is what I think
I expect any upgrade will be after October 15..!! Why..!!??
so ppl who benefited from "Back to school" offer (which ends on Sep. 15) will not have a chance to return their laptops (coz by Oct 15 it will be more than 30 days)..
If I would pick a date, which I expect apple to release their new laptops at... hmm.. I'll say MONDAY, OCTOBER 20th..

I hope MBP will come out earlier :eek:

What do you guys think..??

I'm hanging out for the new MBP and such idea's make me dark.

If Nelhalem is coming out early 2009 then Oct sounds pretty close to then. Why would they leave such a short gap. They may as well merge the two releases together.

Hope not but then again - its Apple. Who knows.

I'm not sure you're right to base your estimated timeline for the MBP refresh/ redesign on the College buying season.

Given the price point differential between the MacBook Pro and MacBook, I'd say most students will opt for the MacBook. Assuming this assumption is correct, Apple would wait until current inventories and refund periods are exhausted before replacing the MacBook. Therefore, your suggested timeline seems to be more appropriate for new MacBooks than MacBook Pros.

Besides, I am not sure Apple can wait that long to update its MBP line-up. The latest iteration of the 45 Nm Penryn processor with Centrino 2 arrives July 11th and most of Apple's major competitors will announce new laptop models then - in fact some already have. Apple could lose sales by waiting. So my guess is that a new MacBook Pro will arrive by the end of August and a new MacBook will arrive in October based on your timeframe and supporting rationale.
 
Well, if I remember correctly didn't they update the MBP 2,1 to 3,1 during the student deal? I remember purchasing mine in August and I was able to use my student discount for the MBP and a free nano.

Edit: They were released in June

I hope you are correct.. coz I've been in the market for a while.. I can't wait any longer..:apple:

Mobile Nehalem parts that would be for an iMac and MacBook/MacBook Pro are more likely to ship about this time next year. Server/Workstation are tasked to ship first, in late 2008, followed by desktop chips in early 2009.

He means these threads are overdone; there are a gazillion of them; no one knows when Apple will come out with a new computer; maybe they will announce Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in a few days and no one will ever know why.

I knew that the new macbook pro will be released on OCT 15 since mid June, but nobody believed me.. :rolleyes:

do you want me to tell you when the new iMac will come out...??? :D:D

I'll get my MacBook Pro tomorrow :apple::apple::apple::apple:
