Well, since I am a fanboy of the Cell processor I thought I would share an interesting slide presentation from a recent IBM event. Of interest is that we all know that Cell's single precision floating-point performance beats pretty much anything that is out right now, but what IBM is planning to improve upon by 2008 is Cells double precision floating-point performance to new levels which would make Cell even more general computing friendly.

OOoohhh, maybe my hope for a cell power pc mac isnt as far off as I think, although they just made the switch so the likelyhood is slim but hey who knows, I could just imagine it now, introducing the all new powermac, featuring a nine core cell processor:)
