me too just waiting for the update to make the jump, reckon I am going to go for the base 15 inch mbp, with the matte screen, but will see what the refresh brings!

I've been waiting several months for the upgraded MacBook Pro, which would be my first Mac ever. I'm really looking forward to it, though I can't help but think that Apple wants to give the iPad some time on the market before they release the new MBP.

It will my first as well. Second... no first. I purchased a Mac Book, had it for about a day before my wife stole it for her school work.

Yup...same here! My sister has been using Macs forever, but I went the route of PCs over the years. I have wanted to get a Mac for a long time, but am just now getting the opportunity.

I'm a fine art photographer in my spare time and quite frankly I'm tired of Vista and the stupid Explorer bar locking up....

I'm not a total techie, but I did manage to rebuild my old HP laptop after the motherboard and the processor died. It's currently the back up to the Toshiba.

I will hang out for a while and see when the new MBP comes out...

Same here. The first computer I ever used was an Apple ][ and I used them all the way up through eighth grade. I became accustomed to PCs and Windows though during middle school however. Macs for a while didn't have my attention until the uMBP.
