Yeah, yeah, I'm a despicable person for starting another 'official' thread. I kill me. :D Since I anticipate we'll be getting a lot of xmas threads this time of year, we can have some sort of mega-repository.

What are you doing for Christmas this year???

This year's Christmas is looking bright for me! My big sister just gave me some money as a gift after she cashed in a few of her company's stock options. I love her!

So with the money, I'll probably spend a third of it on xmas gifts for cousins, nieces and nephews, and some on my friends. The rest I plan to save it for 2006 to blow on some new Apple toys and maybe a month-long vacation.

Merry Christmas all!

30,000 gift WOW!!!

Seeing how i dont have a Jobs my 400 gift of an new iPod Vidoe to my bro seems goods

ANd me and grandma picked out a new 17'' PB for Mom

AND i'll be getting a Apple Laptop of some kind on the 26!

That is a lot of money... all I know that I am getting is a replacement HD for my powerbook as the one in it died. Other than that... Nothing that I know about right now.
lol... my sister wont even give me 30 bucks...

When I'm crazy and rich, I'll either give everyone on MR $30,000 or fly out my favorite members for a partaaayyyyy.

my Xmas list:
Bextra
1992 inflation
some pie
more hot clerks
hot tubs
whirlpools
another hot tub

*shrug*

Why not invest it yourself, instead of blowing it?
That's no fun. Investing takes more patience and effort than I have. :) And with Christmas around the corner, I'm in a spending mood.

Congrats man -- a month-long vacation sounds good :)

Well I started my Christmas shopping. I bought my sis a pink iPod Mini on eBay, I got my mom an iPhoto photo-album (one of the nice hardcover ones), some books for people, and that's about it so far. I've got to go out shopping one of these days...

I say we split it! Works out at about 50¢ per MR member.
Maybe we could prorate that to the inverse of the member id (cause I'm kinda lowish in the member id area) :p :p

[Edit:]Of course, if I were the recipient, I'd get on of these, and some extras like iPods, PBooks, etc. :D :D :D

Also forgot to ask: is your sister single?

You know everybodys going to hate you Lacero, right? I wish my sister was that nice:eek: .

just kidding. But I don't think they'll love you.:)

After Paypal and check/mailing fees, it'll be more like 2 cents per MR member.

It's in CDN dollars so I'll be left with $3,057 dollars if I buy it.

Please take a minute or two today to think about those — maybe someone you know — who are spending Christmas alone, are ill or otherwise distressed.

That is a timely reminder on a day that is associated with exchanging gifts. There are no shortage of people who do not share in any of the holiday festivities for the reasons mentioned. Thanks for reminding us of the real meaning, BV ... I plan to spend time later with a person recovering from surgery and living alone in their apartment.

Holidays can be horrid times -- they are reminders of loss as much as they are celebrations of love.

I'm happy and have wonderful family. But thanks for that post, BV.

I got the typical, lousy, guilt-ridden holiday that I've come to expect; though my mum bought a new HDTV and gave me theirs. It didn't make me feel any better, still.
