With an product revision every year in an environment dictated by two year obligations who is joining me in waiting for the 2010 version of the iPhone?

Dual core baby. Now that will be a fast device. :)

We'll see. The iPhone hasn't made any gigantic advancements since its introduction. I'll check out the competition summer of 2010 before I decide to grab another iPhone.

But you forget the quad-core that's coming in 2011. I say hold out until then.

Ahh, but the holographic displays in 2012...

The only things I see useful for multicore procs for iPhone would be:

1) GAMES
2) Video recording in 720p, 1080p w/editing.

that's it.

I'm totally waiting!!!!

because I just got my iphone in October, so I don't have choice.;) I would've gotten a 3GS if I was eligible for he 199 price. No big deal though.

Otherwise, who knows if the next iphone is actually going to use this hardware...

or this funky thing called multi-tasking...

(cause apple's too much of a prick to let us do it now)

yep. I really hope Apple goes with the multi-core processor in the iPhone and changes things around to allow multi-tasking, but I also fear maybe the processor is just meant for a netbook instead

I'm just going to wait till Apple adds a mini nuclear reactor in place of the battery. That will allow the iPhone to produce it's own energy for years.

Maybe I'm missing something, but this seems, pointle S⃣ S⃣.

I fixed that for you. :D

What happened to PA Semi? Didn't Apple acquire them for their chip expertise and to gain more control over their phones and iPods?

This is ironic. I said to myself before the iPhone 3G S was announced "I'm not going to get this years iPhone, I'll get the one in 2010!".

Now I find this thread, hahah!

I don't care what the next iPhone has to offer, as long as it's better than the 3G, comes out in Summer 2010 I'm more than likely to get it. I hope it comes out on PAYG from Day 1...

You know the easiest solution is to just upgrade every year and sell the old model on eBay... I have actually made money this year and last by selling my 2G and 3G in order to upgrade... so you get to enjoy the new phone, and the next one too.

I was thinking of doing that this time around.... did with the 2G to 3G. I'm thinking I may just wait until next year. Who knows, their may be an iPhone killer by then. :p

I am going to try to wait, but the thought of shooting video and uploading right to Facebook might make it hard for me.

I used to always wait for the next big thing instead of enjoying what's here now... it's just impossible to speculate on something that is a year away, especially with the new 3GS not even out yet. you kids are ridiculous.
