I wish they could have made the Apple logo on the back of the display illuminate. That would have made this machine perfect. It'd just be a nice premium touch. I also don't understand why they took off the MacBook Pro badging under the display. I thought it looked nice as well and there's obviously room for it.

Beyond that, I love this machine.

Same! I always loved the glowing Apple logo on the back of the lid. I also miss the words at the bottom of the screen bezel. "MacBook Pro" is now embossed on the bottom of the chassis.

I agree, I too was disappointed in the lack of the light up Apple logo.

My impression was that the previous illuminated logos were possible to the full backlights of the previous IPS screens where as Mini LED does not have a full on backlight and thus a backlit logo would not be possible.

The lid would have to a lot chunkier for the glowing Apple to return. They took it out because for it to shine, it would also have to allow light to enter from behind and any light leakage going in or out of the translucent Apple logo would mess up the display.
