I was wondering if someone could help me with this problem please.
I was trying to alter a partition size of one of the partitions on my external hard drive that I use for backing up with to Time Machine, but I kept getting an error in Disk Utility, so eventually I erased the Time Machine external hard drive, but first I copied a couple of months worth of backups to a folder on my Desktop, so that I could copy these back over to my external hard drive, once it had been erased and partitioned to my requirements. But this is where the problem started.
I now have the external hard drive ready and I took a Time Machine backup with it. But when I try to either copy or move the individual folders that are for the couple of months worth of backups I mentioned earlier, I get a box appearing saying:
“The operation can’t be completed because backup items can’t be modified”
I was wondering if someone could tell me, how I could add the couple of months worth of folders for the backups, back over on to my Time Machine external hard drive?
Thanks in advance.
