The 'People' folder is stuck scanning...

The 'People' folder in the Photos app is stuck...It says '4,935 Photos Scanned...To finish scanning your remaining 93,510 photos, lock your iPhone and connect it to power.' (I know that is a crazy large amount of photos...I had this problem before, but i solved it in a weird way...i made slideshows of different folders and each slideshow seemed to cause the Photos app to scan those particular ones (probably because it is downloading the entire photo from the cloud.) That method doesn't seem to work anymore so if you have any suggestions, please let me know . The only reason i care is because i think it is affecting my battery life....
