would be a 2.5Ghz i7 late 2011 17" macbook pro with hi-res glossy display

so i can upgrade the **** out of her

if any of you see it appear on refurb at apple.ca let me know right away i'd appreciate it - now that my 2007 17" is finally dead, i have to run back and forth from the library.

;)

Check eBay/Craigslist for one. If you are waiting for it to show up on the refurb store you may be waiting for a very long time.

they show up from time to time, each time i have missed the mark cos i wasn't at home to make the order, i just see it when browsing at the public library terminals. they show up and they go 'just like that', but there are still tons of the anti-glare screen models.

ebay is your best bet. is there craigslist in Canada?

yeah i checked them, everyone has early 2011 or early-late 2010 or late 2011 2.4ghz, most of them are anti-glares with additional built-to order upgrades of which they are all asking for way too much, doubt they will sell unless they want to match Apple.com's pricing.

Thanks both!

Yeah I would imagine they would be close to scarce at times but it's going to be way better than waiting for a refurb to show it. That may never happen unfortunately. Perhaps lurk as much as possible on eBay/Craigslist.

I just looked and it looks like they don't offer the glossy version of the 2.5ghz. They only have the 2.5ghz in the antiglare version.
