You should charge it, all the phones I bought, have some charge, about 70% but not fully charged.

They usually have about half if not more, as the guy above me said. It's not going to come with like 10%, so don't worry about running to an outlet. You should be fine for awhile if you turn down the brightness and just get to an outlet when you can.

Batteries last longest when their charge is kept somewhere in the middle, between 20% and 80%, so that's where they put it since a phone could potentially take weeks to get sold (although this first batch won't). Unfortunately, it doesn't make much sense for users to keep their phones at a partial charge, you generally want it charged up and ready to go when you need it.

Can I use all the battery then charge it full? Or do you still have to charge for so many hours before you use still apply? I know that was a process with older batteries.

I always debate what is the best thing to do for the phone in this case. Whenever I get a new apple device I typically charge when I open it (comes at like 80% usually) and then I kill the battery all the way the first time as well.

I don't know if this is typical protocol anymore…?

Once every other month run it from full to empty; helps calibrate the battery meter. Otherwise just use it as you want.
