Ill preface this by mentioning that i havent been to these forums for a long time, so please let me know if im breaking any rules. Also i wasnt sure where this post should go but i assumed it would be under the apps. I couldnt find the support area if there is one.

With that said, this is one of the strangest issues Ive faced in an app and lets just say I worked at a certain fruit store back in the day, so Im very familiar with fixing basic problems. But on the night of me writing this, back around 8PM I was listening to my podcast app in the car on the way to see a movie, and when i got out of the car my app looked the way it should, all the podcasts were in their place. I proceeded into the movie theater and turned my phone all the way off as any polite movie goer should. Im mentioning all this because im not sure what is relevant to figuing this out. Anyway, I got out of the movie and turned my phone on, when i got back in my car the podcast app had none of my podcasts on the "most recent" station, which is what i normally play them off of. I refreshed several times without any success, so i gave up and played my podcast from the feed. Since this is getting long winded ill just bullet point what happened next after I got home.

  • I checked my ipad, same thing
  • I checked my computers, guess what, same thing
  • After a suggestion from the apple community forums i reset both devices, still no dice
  • Then i restored my ipad, from my icloud back up of 9:00PM two days ago
Now heres where things got interesting. At first my podcast app looked perfect again, all my podcasts were there like i would expect, but then after it automatically began looking for new episodes I watched it go from 106 podcasts back to 8. I played with my all of my podcast settings for a while and i got a few new ones to download, but I never get it back to the way it was, most podcasts never download anything. So here I am, out of all the things from my bag of usual tricks. So based on what ive said, what the hell could have happened and what can i do to fix it? I REALLY need my podcasts, they are the only thing i listen to on my long commutes!
