So, I was chating with those Apple "experts" about the new nano....

WTF. If this is the reason why Apple removed the camera, then they are stupid
 
Well, because you wasted time on the chat...

They know absolutely nothing.

I don't think anyone used the camera on the iPod nano. What I'm more curious about is the removal of video playback.
 
That's like chatting with the check-out clerk at Wal-Mart about their corporate strategy.

Agreed on the video playback. Total step backwards there. Even though the screen was small, it was still watchable.
 
The Nano was never really a device made to record video, it was more a way to move Nano sales.
 
I get the feeling that when the iPod Nano 5th gen was made the camera was originally for the iPod Touch. And then something happened and the camera wouldn't work in the iPod Touch and they said to themselves

"We have all of these camera parts, what the hell are we going to do? I know we'll put them in the nano! Brilliant! I'm Jony Ives!"
