The book was kind of ****, surprised they've adapted it for a mini series. Casting actually looks solid as well. Hmm...

The promo looks like a SNL digital spoof.

Nonetheless despite the ridiculousness of the premise the show itself could be decent.

I would of slapped that kid too, then slap the parents, then slap the executives of NBC, for tricking me into watching some Lifetime trailer.

It is a tough sell. So they put the catalyst for the drama front and center, rather than have it as something that surprises within the series.

This could be cross-posted with the corny joke thread, but I heard they were spinning off a comedy and calling it The Knee Slap.

Looks dumb, title sounds dumb. "Hey, let's think of one controversial moment and try to write a script and storyline around it!" I'm sure that'll work well. :S

it could have been a good comedy. All they would have needed was a different soundtrack, and it would have been hysterical.

As high quality as the product values and acting are, a show built around the premise of slapping a child just does not seem necessary. Frankly the premise makes the entire show seem like a meaningless spoof even though there may be a solid story built around it.

Seems like it'd be a decent show if it used an episode called "The Slap" as a pilot and had a different premise and title.
