First of all, I do like the microphone itself, it sounds very good considering its a handsfree mic.

But I'm just not fond of the 'Click once to pause', 'Click twice to skip (music)', 'Click three times to go back one song', because most of the time it just doesn't work.

Especially with the three-click part, or even the two click, it usually ends up that I'm not squeezing the button fast enough, so it just pauses the song (and then resumes), and then it usually takes a minute to sort it all out. Is this really practical? It just seems really gimmicky, and very unnecessary.

I just wondered what everyone else thought about it?

For me, it is very useful. Doesn't seem gimmicky at all. I've also done that many times though (not pressing fast enough to fastforward). But I think Apple got the timing right and the remote should easy to use and useful for most people. And of course, it isn't necessary to use that remote. People can always change tracks from the screen.
