The Strip on the Screen of the 2016 MBP

So the MBP has branding on the screen. On Apple's website, this looks to be seamless with the bezels and display. On review videos, it looks like a plastic strip glued to the display. Is it seamless with the display, or is it an extra, protruding piece?
