I've been trying to utilize the built-in Reminders app more. Haven't gotten around to it until now since it was revamped a few years ago and able to meet my needs.

I entered a reminder and set a date and time for January 2, 2026. Fortunately I noticed after closing out that the Reminder was already overdue. Huh. Opened the reminder and turns out the year set is 26. Not 2026. 26. As in, Jesus was out chillin with his bros turning water into wine and whatnot.

How can Apple make software that is this stupid in 2025? Like, even discounting all of their screwups when it comes to AI, how does their Reminders app allow you to set a reminder in the past? Much less not realize that when you enter 26 that you obviously mean 2026 and not 2000 effin' years ago. To me, this one simple and yet perfectly stupid thing fully encapsulates the idiotic nature of contemporary Apple. Thank you for coming to my TEDx Talk.

they  lost their way, I hardly use anything  anymore especially reminders.
I had a weird Number's shaft that could not open after saving that on a thumb drive.
my fault I found out. ?

Now, , they develop for what is convenient for that 5 second attention span track younger humans.
we need to remember this,
so set a reminder....oh we can't!

The short answer is that software quality doesn't "make number go up".

As long as it's above a certain threshold (which seems to keep getting lower) they think it's "fine".

This is the end game of having the "Ops Guy" in charge, as opposed to Product driven leadership, design and ideals as first principles.

Tim has basically forgotten this quote from Steve

So people no longer use time machines to travel in the past?

Jokes aside, this is a failure of the reminder people. It's not just Apple, I tend to think that the more trillions companies have in their market capitalization, the more stupid they become. So that applies to the other technology corporations.

Did you try to create other reminders with due dates? If so, were they also impacted by this issue?

Well, I for one think Jesus is allowed to use a Mac, cause everybody knows the Devil Runs Windows.
