You don't have to stand feet away from and laptop, and for that matter the device uses a wall as a screen... very limited use. As it is in the demo, useless, but maybe further development will help.

Get rid of the finger tape;
Projected holographic display;
much smaller rig;
and while we're at it, it's controlled TELEPATHICALLY!

Then I'll get one.
