Well, after years of anguish over the Yanks stealing away yet another of our cultural icons (except Steve Irwin, you can have him, why would we bother with Steve Irwin when we've got Russell Coight??)

A group of local manufacturers went up against the US Multi-National who had trade-marked "Ugg Boot" and had the TM overruled, saying that "Ugg Boot" is a generic term that can be used by anyone.

Hoooray!!:D :p

You can have them. They are the stupidest, ugliest things I've ever seen.

I dunno, I think they look nice on girls. They can fit a certain style of dress for girls here in Canada. Usually either tights with a long shirt/skirt or the preppy sporty look with sweatpants. Not a fan of the preppy look, but Uggs can look nice.

They're warm but they look more like slippers than outdoor boots.

And part of me thinks that they can't be good for your feet. Every person I've seen in them is overpronating so badly that the suede is nearly hitting the floor rather than the sole so can't imagine they're giving much support.

But it is good to hear that the original manufacturers get the win!
