Some of us know a certain Apple exec was spending Apple money and time on Cray supercomputers and the Unicos OS back in the mid 80's.

Right around the same time Cray was transitioning their proprietary OS to UNIX, someone got an idea to start company to develop a competing OS and some cool looking black hardware.
