My iMac always displays the wrong time at the top of the screen (I don't want to call that the toolbar in error). All the settings are set correctly, it just doesn't act right. I don't have the same problem with my MBP. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

I do have it set to adjust the time automatically.

Two things to check -

1. Your time zone in System Preferences -> Date and Time. Make sure the closest city is set properly, or at least in the same time zone as you.
2. Your internet synchronization settings - is this turned on?

The time zone is set correctly and the sync settings are turned on. Anything else I can check?

Any other suggestions? The settings are the same on my MBP and iMac, but the iMac's time is never accurate. It is so weird because I could go to it now and it may say 6:45am instead of 10:10pm. It is really strange.

I have a .mac account and I constantly get messages to sync email accounts. What happens is an account is deleted and added - the same account! I'm wondering if this is because of the time problem.
