there is no "AT&T verison" only "3G version" of iPad 2, right?

It is my understanding that there really isn't a "AT&T version" of the iPad 2,
as in there is only a 3G GSM version. Is this correct?

For example, the iPad 2 sold as AT&T 3G verison in the US should be 100%
identical to a 3G GSM version sold by Apple Stores in Europe/Asia, right?

Or am I wrong?

Right. The iPad2 is unlocked so you can put any sim into it, though. Just happens to come with AT&T .
