I can't install any drivers at the moment. Every time I try to install any driver from a DMG file, I get the above error message. It's happening with my audio driver, and its also happening with the driver for a screen capture piece of software. This makes me think that the MacOS driver (kext) system has been corrupted somehow.

Note: This started happening after I started playing with kextunload, and kextload. I used these commands because I have a strange piece of hardware (long story) that requires me to load and unload drivers without rebooting. Once or twice when I called "kextload", the computer crashed and destroyed a HD.

How can I find out what is going on? Do DMG files leave any logs or anything on the hard drive that would help me diagnose the problem?
