You're in a train with your notebook, and realize that you need to get a PDF out the portable and send it by email with your cellphone.

Can this be done with iPhone or i need a smartphone?

I think there are some apps that turn your iPhone into a "wireless hard disk" and you can just drag and drop files to it. Then you can email them from the app on your iPhone.

If you have your laptop computer tethered to your iPhone, then yes, you can email out a pdf.

That's a really, really big IF, wouldn't you say?

There's probably an app that does this, but I'm not aware of it. 'Air Sharing' lets you send the file from the laptop to the phone using Wifi, but then it's stuck in Air Sharing. You can't e-mail from there.

Does anyone know of a program that works like that but then allows e-mailing?

You can email files from Air Sharing Pro.

I never used it though, I don't know if there's a better app for that.

EDIT: There's also QuickOffice Files and ReaddleDocs
