Thermal Sensor Settings

Hey all, had a quick question regarding the thermal sensors. In my late 09 27" iMac i replaced the optical drive with an SSD. I put the thermal sensor from the optical drive back onto the SSD but was wondering if there was a way to change the themal sensor settings so it new it was an SSD as opposed to optical disk drive, or really if this is even necessary. Only reason I'm asking is because I'd assume a computer would have different safe operating temperatures from an optical drive to SSD.
