So, before the keynote I read a lot about the new iphones having a temperature sensor .. and now I've only seen a mention to a barometer during the keynote. Is that all? no temperature sensors?

To many inconsistencies to implement a thermometer. Unless you are looking for the temperature of the inside of your pocket, in the sun, sitting next to something that is hot or cold, heat from your hand, heat from charging while using it, etc.

It like how people thought Android implemented a barometer all those years ago for weather information. A mobile barometer doesn't work for weather....at all.

There is a thermometer in iOS devices. The first to have one accessible by iOS was the iPhone 3Gs. Of course it is used to detect the battery temperature and device overheats. It doesn't work well to detect the changes in ambient air temperature because it's encased within a sold mass, namely the iPhone.
