My client, worried that some tornado or whatever was due down south, shipped me one of her Caldigit 4TB backup trays to keep this season. I have a matching AV Pro drive, so I checked it when it arrived and, oh yes, the click of death. Many checks later it was time to deliver the bad news. "Buy another" I said.
No problem in this redundant system we set up 1.5 years ago. There are 3 copies of 2 sets. We are good to go and the new tray is copied and likely on it's way to me again.
I'll say that 1 out of 6 of these is perhaps luck or average, but a reminder to ALWAYS have a redundant backup.
I have 2 for my system but have yet to send one out of state. The tornado or Sharknado will arrive tomorrow and kill my backups!!
