Well, actually it was the directors skull, F.W. Murnau, that was nicked from his grave.

BTW, Nosferatu is a great example of German expressionist cinema.

Shadow of the Vampire was pretty good, too.

Actually, I read about that incident on the BBC - it is utterly bizarre.

A good few years ago, I saw the movie 'Nosferatu' in a university art house cinema - it was a superb, absolutely gripping, surprisingly fresh, and a really brilliant film. For its time, this was a great movie - it is still thrilling to watch.
