Thicker iPhone/iPod Touch?

Who would like to see the iPhone/iPod Touch get thicker in exchange for more features. For example, who wouldn't mind the iPhone getting a bit thicker in exchange for a bigger battery?

I know that the iPhone is already quite chunky as it is, but I am sure Apple, through the use of contours or whatever, could clean up the look of a bigger iPhone.

And the iPod touch. I realise that the current iPod touch is 0.5mm thicker than the 1st gen, but it doesn't seem to have gone anywhere useful. Sure Nike+ support is nice, as well as a bad speaker, but who would like the iPod touch to get thicker for support for perhaps a better speaker or whatever?

It wouldn't bother me at all. I welcome it if it would mean longer battery life and more features. Now, I don't mean a 1" brick but a tad bit thicker or maybe double wouldn't bother me at all.

why are people so against a thicker iphone? it could be twice as thick and still fit nicely in a pocket but people tote their iphones around like some sort of fashion accessory or something. ITS A FREAKING PHONE.

Agreed. Look at the phones of 10 years ago. Even two. I think we've got it pretty damn good these days. The iPhone could afford a couple extra centimeters to improve battery life, IMO.

It wouldn't even look like an iPhone if it had those features.

What you want is a bulky smartphone with the mobile OSX platform, it seems.

Nono. I think one of the iPhone's benefits is it's sleekness over the other smartphones. Its fine the way it is. Besides, it grew a millimeter since the first iPhone.

Oh! And I think the current thickness is perfect, but as batteries, etc. advance they will get smaller.. and then they will fit in the same sized case.
I'm sure Apple is working on a better battery for the iPhone.. Just like the MacBook Pro.

Can't we just put a high capacity battery in the phone to begin with?

Slim the fastest point on the 3G down to 2G levels, and the curve the back from there.

I like my phone thin with a curvy backside, but not too thin that I have to deal with everyone behind my back saying "Ewwwww....I think his phone has an eating disorder". Then I wind up on Dr. Phil or Oprah with everyone telling me I didnt love it enough- so its my fault

Oh no, too thin!! I put a case on my original iPod Touch because it was so thin I was afraid I'd drop it while using it. The iPhone is much better. It could get a tad thicker IMO as long as it was still curved at the back.

Slide out keyboard is disgusting, I shun all of you who ask for it. I would not buy an iPhone with a physical keyboard.
