Other than the battery health, the wear and tear and of course the price what else deteriorate in an Iphone for an average user .
Like for example if an avg user uses an iphone for 2 years and replaces with a new battery does it performs similar as 2 years back? Like touch sensitivity, CPU performance, camera performance.display etc etc..

After 3 years or so I had the battery changed on my old 6s, everything worked exactly the same.

I think you'll see sluggishness over time in some apps that demand more resources as they evolve. This is pretty easily seen in gaming.

You'll also perceive your screen and camera deteriorating when you see newer phones performing better in those area. However, the actual performance of those aspects will not change. I was amazed by the camera in my iPhone 6 when I bought it. Now I think it's junk.

Wipe your phone and a clean install, no backup, start fresh. It’s not a power house, but it’s still “ok”. Better then a 4S and 5S for sure. Like my iPad mini4 I guess.

Some components can wear like the ports for example, but that’s down to the individual unit really.

2-3 years use cycle should be totally fine for a new current iPhone, both for software and hardware. As others have mentioned, depending on your use, you may see a drop in battery performance, the other bits should hold rather well. 🖐

On older phones the sleep button sometimes wore out. Lightning port can show wear too if you use crap cables. Speakers blow, mics die. They are not indestructible for sure, but if you take care of them they will last sort. Except the 7. You can take care of those and it will still fail.

Charge port will wear out after a few thousand plug insertions.
Home button on older models could break. Any button could eventually break. Any component soldered inside the thing could die of old age eventually though that hasn't been happening so far.
Screen color, quality and accuracy can degrade with time.
My 4S screen looks pretty crappy now. It used to look very good... But nobody wants to use a phone that old anyway.
Generally speaking- for the most part, most people are sick of the phone before it malfunctions

As mentioned, you think the camera is awesome till you put it side by side with a newer model. Then it's.. Where's my credit card? Lol

Not much else deteriorates, my mother has had her iPhone X since late 2017, and other than her silicone Case and Battery deteriorating, the phone itself runs perfectly fine, she still absolutely loves using it.

iOS 13.5.1 seems to be running perfectly fine on the A11 Bionic, this being a newer chip than the one found in the current iPad 10.2 (A10 Fusion) and running great in that, the A11 has tons of power.

Camera performance, UI speed etc... all seem to still be great, it just feels like a smaller version of my 11 Pro Max, unless I look at its back I would swear it was a 2019 iPhone 11 Pro, TBH.

iPhones age very well, I would say once you hit the 4-5year mark with one THEN it may be time to upgrade and even then you’d still be getting all the updates being sent to new iPhones to.

Depends which phone you’re referring to, youre post is Rather vague, as you didn’t list any specific iPhone Model, as they all have their own ‘set pattern’ of failures. For example, the iPhone 6 with the typical ‘spring Loaded push button’ would fail, until Apple migrated to the haptic style home button with the iPhone.

The next obvious one would be the iPhone lightning port. That’s a ‘soldered component’, and if it cracks, then you lose the ability to have a solid connection for a charge and/or it will infrequently charge or will say ‘not charging‘.

Batteries can fail (Even though that’s not really part of the overall iPhone construction), especially if they are exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures, which is terrible for lithium ion technology.

Displays, camera modules, speakers, rarely, if ever ‘fail.
