I came into work this morning and woke up my M1 mini. Tg Pro showed a temp line of 155/ 132 F. My usual readings under normal loads are around 111/ 85. While this increase was nothing to be worried about in the least, as the fan didn't even move from the 1,700-1,750 rpm purgatory that it seems locked in, but it was still annoying the hell out of me, because nothing different was going on usage wise on my part. Opening Activity Monitor, I found my weird.... There was a Capital One shopping plugin for Safari that I don't even remember installing that was hogging an incredible amount of cpu resources. I disabled it and POOF!, issue gone?! Weird thing is that my browser only had 2 tabs open and neither was a shopping site, and the fact that i should have notice an active plugin like that as I do a ton of shopping for my work everyday. My only guess was my recent software update (still running Monterey on my work Mac) which also included Safari somehow enabled the plugin. Has something like this happened to anybody or is it just a ghost glitch? For the record, i am the only Mac in a PC/windows office and nobody has access to my computer without my say so.
