I keep a nice password protected journal/diary with Journal. It's like an iLife app for your thoughts. I have almost four years of my life documented right now!

I also keep in touch with my friends with my favorite AIM client, Adium. I love the flexibility and customization.

There are tons of fun or useful apps out there. Discover 'em. :)

The Folding@home program is a great thing to do with a Mac that doesn't get much use. I do the same with my own personal machine (when idle) and my PS3. PS3 is on pretty much 24/7. I have only one game and use it mainly as a Blu-ray player whenever it's not crunching data about protein folding.

If you have other computers, you could turn it into a server.
