Hey fellas, I'll be upgrading from a 2011 15" MacBook Pro to the late 2013 15" Retina MacBook Pro with NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M.

Apart from the primary input / output, display pixels, and built quality checks, what are the issues currently faced by this Mac?

I understand I will have to check for image retention / persistence in the case of the Retina display, what else?

Thank you and Happy Lunar New Year.

make sure its powers on, and can charge, check the battery capacity, force it to use the Nvidia to test it, make sure you don't drop it, make sure you get a case for it

What are the Retina MacBook Pro-specific issues to check for besides image retention, uneven backlight and yellowing during a purchase?

I would use the laptop as you normally would and if you don't see any problems with the display she's a keeper.

Some of the issues have been yellow screens and image retention and like any laptop some have had issues with light bleed and dead pixels, though those issues are more rare.
