In 2009 I was in Australia for about a month, and I've done some stupid things to remind myself of home including:

-Called Valley Metro and looked up the time of a bus even though I was thousands of miles away from a bus stop which Valley Metro served.

-Went to a McDonald's even though it was somewhat different (though not too much)

-Went on YouTube

-Picked up all phone calls that went to my phone...even telemarketing and it was really weird hearing about "Chandler, AZ" in a political call, while I was in Melbourne (actually in the suburbs of Glen Waverley)

...The bad part was coming home to an $1,800 phone bill as I was internationally roaming :(

Had a cup of tea. I think it was when I was on holiday in Italy, I'd been drinking coffee as that's more common there and was quite good quality, but one day I caved and had tea. It wasn't good and at that moment I really wanted to be back at home with my own tea and teapot!

- Called a friend on their Friday night
- Gone to Nandos (a place I'd eat at with friends at least once a week)
- Bought beer from home

I brought a tea pot and tea, i get strange looks whilst brewing at my desk :D

again, found a McD's, brining across a lot of food is a good way.

Luckily there is an American airbase near by, so theres a couple of American style diners etc, i frequent those :) reminds me of my time in the US.

Cried like a little ***** and sucked my thumb.

Called my mommy and told her how much I wanted a huggy wuggy.

Then I watched porn and punched a wall, just to make myself still feel like a man.

I've Lived overseas for 6 years now and don't feel any compelling reason to go home..home is where you are..
