Ive just purchased a MacBook Air M1 & had lots of problems trying to restore from time machine.
I must have re-installed the software about 3 times now but still no joy.....Anyway in doing
so I may have messed my hard drive up.
Should it look like the attached photo ie greyed out & if not how do I restore it all properly.

Yes the greyed out Macintosh HD at the top level is normal in Big Sur. I think this is because that volume is a readonly snapshot.
