It’s been awhile since I done this… I haven’t preorder a launch day phone since iPhone 11

So I preordered my new 512GB 16 Pro Max with the Apple Store app and locked in my Sept. 20 date… even picking it up at the Delaware Apple Store to avoid the sales tax.

I wanted to take advantage of the Verizon $1000 trade in credit, not the Apple Store one where they only they only offer me $400… if I’m gonna do carrier financing for 36 months… might as well get the max bill credits and all my devices are paid off on my Verizon account so keep my bill low is the plan

Can’t I call Verizon directly and tell them I want to trade in my phone with them for the $1000 credit or do I need to cancel my Apple Store order and order with Verizon instead

Your choice is either take the $400 apple trade or bill credits. Its probably still processing so I'd imagine that you can still cancel it. If you want the bill credits its probably easier to just buy it through the carrier.

Worst case is, you return the one direct from apple, because ordered one through your carrier, and then you'd have the option of selling privately if for some reason there is a hard to get markup in the coming weeks (though I highly doubt that will happen).

Did you do carrier financing through Apple? That should have given you the full promo amount. I went through Verizon (couldn't get my preorder for all 4 phones to go through) and they had the same promo.
Wish I was closer to Delaware to save on the tax!

Yeah… I messed up by not changing the plan

Once I get the new phone… I gotta call Verizon back to set up the phone trade in through them

I was going to do that Verizon deal but I have the lowest plan at $55/month and they want me to upgrade to the ultimate plan at $80/month to get the $1000 trade in credit. So if I wanted the max (another +$5/month) it would basically be $30/month and if it wanted the 16 Pro it would be 25/month. they almost got me! I had to read the fine print right before I finished my order lol

I upgraded through Apple using my Verizon plan and I got the full credit.

You can cancel or just sell your phone locally and get more credit

I'm toying around with the idea of taking advantage of the $1,000 credit offered by Verizon and trading in my 15 Pro Max for a 16 Pro Max. It seems like a good deal, but I have a question about the trade-in credits being spread over 36 months. Let's say I decide to upgrade to the 17 Pro Max next year and pay off the monthly payments in their entirety (it comes out to $5.55 a month, after the credit is applied), do I continue to receive the monthly credit for the trade-in, or do they automatically stop?

I typically purchase directly from Apple and am clueless when it comes to carrier deals.
