Well, i'm pretty sure 4S will get the update. The bigger question is, what will happen in case of 4.

It will get ios7 but probably not all the features. Much like how the iPhone 4 did not get Siri when iOS 5 dropped...

It will absolutely get iOS 7 however it will lack features that the iPhone 5 and any newer model iPhone, 5S or 6, will get. Even the iPhone 4 should get a very watered down version of iOS 7. The 4 will likely be dropped from the line-up of models available for purchase new at a store once the next phone is released but still get iOS 7 since it will still be relevant hardware that could have been purchased brand new at the moment of launch of the latest hardware. This is why the 3GS received iOS 6 even though it was discontinued when the 5 was released but it will likely not receive the iOS 7 update.

iOS 7 will be released with several new features, one of them is a fresh new designed UI exclusively available for the iPhone 5 and the upcoming iPhone 5S only.

I hope they don't do something like that lol.

That's usually how it works

New iPhone gets everything (5S), last iPhone gets everything (5), one before that gets most (4S), and the one before that gets a few. (4)

I'd like it for the 3GS... But in my dreams... I have a 5 as my main phone, but wouldn't mind trying out the beta on my 3 for dev... I guess I will have to stay content with the simulator until a 3rd or 4th beta.

Yes, but it will probably run like an amputated dog.

Slow and with at least one part of it's essential features missing. Hopefully, I will not be forced to put my own dog down and buy a new puppy.

I hope the 4s runs 7. That would be greatly disappointing.

Of course it will - it's not exactly old - use some rationale - if the 3GS can run iOS 6.1.X, and it is 4 years old, then why on earth would a 2 (or less?) year old iPhone not run iOS 7?

I often wonder if people process thoughts before committing them to forums...

I think the cut off will be the iPhone 4. It'll get it but not the iPod touch 4G - the extra RAM in the iPhone 4 makes a big difference.

So, iPhone 4, 4S and 5.
iPad 2, 3, 4 and mini.
iPod touch 5G.

I have no doubt it will get iOS7. No reason it should be missing any features either IMO. Speed and processor BS aside, it Apple shouldn't be thinking of crippling it.

I'm already on the edge of moving to the Sammy S4 thus if they do indeed cripple it, I will likely just make the move.

I'm pretty sure it will not only be on the 4S, but it won't lack any features. The 4S is still powerful enough that it will be able to run any feature of iOS7.

Most if not all features will be available for the 4S. Remember the iPod touch 5 just launched and has the same internal components. No worries.

Sure it might be powerful enough for it, but considering the past years and how the limited the "bigger" functions to the newest handset(s), why would they suddenly make everything available on the 4S?

Not that I don't agree with you, but I really doubt they'll do that.

I seriously don't think it would happen. I think the new design is going to be for all the iPhones and iPod Touches. Although, the 4S will lack some features. Good thing I can get an upgrade when the 5S or the 6 comes out!
