Thinking about getting a imac G4 for the kitchen possibly the latest 17 inch G4. Just wondered whats the maximum amount of RAM that the imac can take and also would a eyetv work ok in one of these? Don't suppose any of you out there have a G4 for sale? :D

eyetv should work on the iMac g4 ,1.25 ghz , 17 "
at least it does on my eMac just perfect with the pctv ulimate usb nano stick
ok the eMac is a bit faster , eMac 1.42ghz instead of 1.25 ghz in the iMac g4 ,eMac 512mb level 2 cache instead of 256mb in the iMac g4 , but vram grapics are the same in both 64mb
and eye tv has minimum requirements of usb 2.0 and osx tiger but i think they recommend 64mb graphics
but it might even work with 32mb graphics in the 15"model , but cant confirm this

17" iMac g5 for the kitchen is better. You can VESA mount the ones without the isight.

+ You should be able to find one very cheap.

- I had got rid of mine a few years ago as I found the processor could not keep up when playing video from a few sources.
- It only has USB 1, running anything via USB might be to slow (eyeTV)

Just my 2 cents
