I'm thinking about buying a PowerMac G5 for a home server to replace my 1.66CD Mac Mini, I understand that Leopard is as far as I can go and everything, but I don't plan on paying to upgrade to Snow Leopard Server anyways, and I'm currently using Leopard Server.

I found a DP 2.0ghz, 2gb ram, 400gb HDD, for a pretty decent price <$350, I was thinking that the G5 would be more capable as a server than the Mini currently is, it's definitely more expandable and such. Do you guys think that it would be "faster" than the Mini? I would expect that it can handle doing more than the Mini can.

I've never used a PPC machine, as I got into Macs right after the switch. So anyone who could chime in, I would definitely appreciate it, as I have to act on this soon.

Thanks,
Andrew

Specs:

# Dual 2.0GHz processors
# 2GB DDR Ram
# ATi Radeon 9600 Pro graphics card
# DVD R/RW
# New 400GB SATA Seagate hard drive loaded with OSX Leopard

The pictures of it look pretty good, no major scratches, no dents.. etc..
