This would be in the US, where they are plentiful, and in Los Angeles specifically. We have lots of TV and movie production houses clearing out "old" Mac Pros all the time. It seems like a decent deal, but I am not familiar with resale prices.

I'd say it's worth $1200 or so.

Thanks. They want $1600 firm. I've seen 2010s around $1200 not quite as loaded....I guess I really need to figure out if a 2012 model is worth any premium over a 2010.

Do you have any stomach for building a hackintosh? You could put together an i7 with more performance for quite a bit less. The only classic Mac Pros that are really worth it imho are the 4,1-5,1 dual-processor models (assuming the extra cores are useful for you.)

If the single CPU is all you need and hackintosh isn't an option, I'd hold out for a better deal....
