I have been looking around for a macbook pro for quite some time, though needed something cheaper than what apple offered.

On my local craigslist I found a new in box 2.33ghz c2d macbook pro, 17" 2 gig ram, and a 160 gig harddrive for $1300.

This sounds really good for me, and fits my needs perfectly. I was curios as to whether or not anyone has any quick suggestions, comments, etc.

Thanks a lot.

umm...

That's REALLY cheap. Be careful it's legit and not stolen.

If not however, jump on it.

Hmmm..

Yeah, I will. Since it is advertised as new in box I'd assume it was a christmas related item. It sounds great, I guess Ill check it out.

The 2.33 version would be last year's model, not the one currently selling.

That does explain the price break, but the computer is over a year old.

Still a good deal, if legit. New ones sell for $2700, last year's model USED would still probably be worth around 2 grand.
