Hi all

I'm thinking about going back to a 15" MBP

I sold my release day unibody MBP 15" for a iMac about 1 year ago and would like to get another laptop.

Is the new MBP with the AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 1GB GDDR5 good?

I do light gaming and selling the iMac I could always build a gaming PC if I need more power.

How much better is the AMD Radeon HD 6750M vs my Imac with the ATI Radeon HD 5670 256MB?

I take it the 6750 is loads better ?

MMMMMM Precious....

Shoot you iMac dead in the head and get a MBP bet you'll be glad u did when ur strokin ur new precious MBP......

The new macbook pros are great. I like using it so much that I sold my iMac too. I support your decision to do the same.

Sounds good.

Whats the heat like from these now? My 2.53 late 2008 unibody used to get quite hot and loud when playing games.

It will get hot and loud while playing games. Any laptop, save gaming laptops which are designed with a beefy cooling system, will get hot and probably pretty noisy with gaming.

Still unsure on what to get now.

Are the new MBP a better speed bump than the new Imacs? with SB

Is it still a major problem using the MBP with the lid down for long periods of time.

I remember when I had my MBP 15" and people on this forum didn't recommend using it for long periods of time with the lid down because of the air flow out the back.

I've currently got the iMac i3 3.2 and if I jumped over to the MBP 2.2 i7 how much quicker is it?
I really only use internet, email, light gaming like quake live,SC2,portal2 and a few other RTS games on windows7
I do encode some video for itunes and ipad2

I exchanged my 21.5" iMac the other day for a 17" MBP. No regrets here.

Performance is about equal when it comes to encoding video and playing games; however, the 17" MBP has a higher resolution screen and self-upgrading to an SSD is a snap by comparison.
