Being in a dorm room environment( my floor is very loud) with noise, etc it would be nice to have noise canceling headphones around so I can listen to my music( and study!) without hearing background noise. I have looked up on C|Net that the Bose QC3's are pretty good and right now they are 10% off from Bose. I have always liked Bose products. My grandparents have a Bose Wave radio and I have the Bose Sound dock for my iPod. But, I am wondering if they are any better alternatives out there?

Personally I find the QC2's to be more comfortable, and their over-ear design rather than on-ear actually reduces more noise. They also are much less expensive.
