Hi all

I have 3 PCs that are currently networked via Cat5. I'm looking to tidy away the cables by switching to a good, reliable, fast wireless network. The main strain on my network is streaming video from the computers upstairs to the media centre PC connected to the TV in the sitting room. My question is this; would the Airport Extreme be able to handle streaming video to 2 computers at once, wirelessly, from a drive attached to the USB port on the router?

Also, I'm wondering what is the best way to backup the contents of a drive attached to the router? There would be hundreds of gigabytes of content, so probably way too much to be backed up over the wireless network.

Many thanks for any thoughts.

I guess it probably depends on what type of videos you would be streaming. The USB port on the Airport Extreme is NOT very fast. I would think maybe 1 would be possible, not sure about 2.

That's a real shame :(
