I have an iMac 27” later 2015. I do photography and starting to do video as well dealing with 4. I was thinking if I will feel a difference in performance between the 2?

I’m not worried about the ARM Macs and plan on using the laptop for at least 5 years which means I will be perfectly aligned to Mac the switch deep into the ARM Macs.

edit: attached my iMac specs

I just moved from the 2015 15" (base model) to the i9 2.3, 1TB, 16Gb, 5500M 4GB model.

I DEFINITELY notice a difference - the number of cores is doubled, and it looks like you would go from 4 to 8 as well, but even more - your current cpu doesn't appear to have hyper threading, so it should be more impactful in your case (assuming you're looking at the i9 model).
