thinking of renting movies to my iPad2 from itune for my long distance flight

i don't think the plane has wifi access, do i need internet access to watch the movies i rent via itune? i don't think so because they're stored in the Cloud but just want to make sure of this.

You have to download the movie via wifi, but then can watch the movie anywhere any time with or without wifi. As soon as you hit play you have 24hours to watch the movie (or watch it as many times as you want).

so before i take off for airport i just hit play, then stop to get access to the movie, and watch the rest on the plane?
